I was looking around on eBay, and found this...

What do you think? I'm sure that intake will not fit on a Ford, but are there other choices like that? With the aussie 2V setup, you can remove the intake, correct. So, what intake could fit on there that is already setup for 3-1v carbs?

SU type carbs are VERY different to traditional US style car carbs. Be prepared to learn a lot yourself, as most people have no clue when it comes to fine-tuning and service. And you don't want to pay an E-Type specialist, do you?

Having said all that, they will sound great, fit tidily and only be outrun by Weber or Dell'Orto style carbs.

Regards, Adam.

Well, that takes me back!! I was a Partsman at a Datsun dealer back before college back in 1980.

Not to sound harsh, but that is a dual carb, not a triple carb set up. The Zs were 2.4 litre in-line sixes; rated roughly at 150HP. Both carbs would flow at the same time, so there were always issues with balancing the carbs. I think the Offy triple is a better design for every day driving because only one carb has to be fiddled with for idle and off idle driving.

And you are right, the intake ports probably do not match up  wish they did. All we would have to do is cut off the log etc.....

Ak Miller did a 200 (?) 35 years ago with 6 1 bbls.
I've seen one with 6 40mm Mikunis.

FWIW, I bought an intake gasket for that Datsun set-up so I could compare it to the Ford Oz head. Sorta close, similar runner spacing, but would involve a whole 'nother spacer to make it work.

Probably easier to build one from scatch, like that guy in PA did. (anybody still have a shot of that engine?)

Do you mean Hotrod Bill and his Webers? He was polite, asked questions, went away and did the job, and it ran more than fine. Thus depriving the slavering hordes of much excitement (willit? wontit?). :(

Hi,
Yes, I made myself a manifold for (3)-45DCOE webers to put on my 250-6 in my '65 Falcon. I found 3 Webers at a swap meet and then talked to a couple of Aussies who had made one. I then cut the pieces out myself (which took a lot of time), but had it professionaly welded and machined.
I talked to a piercemanifold.com in Calif to get the proper jetting.

The car runs great!!!! The response is fantastic when you step on the pedal!!!! If anyone wants pictures, info on the 250-6 installation or on the modifications give me your enail address and I will sent them to you.
