my mechanic and i did some measurements yesterday on clearances for a oz 250 2V intake, carb, air cleaner, and header. all of which came from au. i am preparing too drop it in my 65 comet 4dr sedan. the only thing i need too do is get air filters and get the ceramic coating on the header. but i hit a snag. my problem was the header bolt hole did not line up straight and the header tubes where not the inline plain flat with the head. and too be any more of a pain... the headers are 3" too wide . they will not clear my shock towers. do i need too get new headers? can you give me a hand?

i do not know what brand but they are well made. as for what they came out of ... i am sure it was a fairlane ZF. the guy i got it from in au. up graded his ZF too V8. and he sold the entire package on ebay? were headers factory when cars were brought new? i can not find a makers mark?

That is the problem. Headers came with the 2V from new (they had a part number on a small plate). The engine bays from 1966 onwards in Australia got wider, and the factory/replica headers are mostly made for that setup.

Yours will fit a 68-up Mustang, and possibly a '67. Also 66-up Falcons/Fairlanes.

The headers Mike sells are narrower.

Sorry I can't offer a quick fix. Maybe a swap can be done with someone?

I have a new header coming in this week which fits the Australian Cortinas, which have really small bays. I'm curious to see how they differ from the ones I currently stock. Either way, I should have one that will fit your application. Maybe we can do some sort of swap.
