Hi all!
I have just started working on my Paxton Supercharger install, my son (littleroo) aka "65Stang" just took his mustang to the paint shop, so now I have use of my garage again!
As I said before I am mounting the Paxton onto the A/C bracket in my 1968 Mustang 200 six with Aussie head, I have power steering so it has got to go on the passanger side or I have to remove the power steering and I'm not ready to do that just yet. I removed the battery and mounted it in the trunk so that I would have room for the air intake to the supercharger and the battery was in the way of the Supercharger, this would only be a problem for Aussie 2v owners if you were using a stock six head there is plenty of room, I had to make room to clear the Aussie intake. I just finished making the custom mount for the supercharger out of 3/8" 5052 Alum stock. I did take pictures of it by itself if anyone is interested. I still have lot's to do before she will be running under boost. I'll update again in a few weeks as I make a little more progress on this project. The good news is the hood closes without any problems.

Oh my......
That is absolutely AMAZING!!! I cant wait to hear about how she runs. You HAVE to keep us updated!

what kind of hp and tq numbers are you expecting to see out of this project? I am considering a turbo project, if it can increase hp to about 200+ at the wheels without excesive boost, and still be driven daily. I don't know what to expect.

Can't wait till your done. Hope everything works out

John

g'day. iam glad to hear that shes going all well. i want to S/C my fairmont soon, its an aussie 6 from a 80 cortina. iam still looking into it all at the moment though. goodluck and keep me posted mate!
hoo roo

wow, i havent seen a paxton on a six before. Im looking to SC my 300 in the near future but was advised to use the eaton m90 an mount it ontop of the intake then car, ect.. Do you think your setup would wor on mine? Which charger do you guys think is better/easier to install?Awsome job mustangaroo

Sorry this is my first shot at supercharging any car! So I have no way of knowing whats best for anyone else out there or even what's easier as I am mounting to an A/C bracket and if you haven't got one without the a/c compressor mounted to it I can't help you! As to the perfromance aspect my only know referance point is the 87 Mustang 5.0 S/C with the SN-89 and because the pulleys are not the same size and the engines are not the same size, I would be only guessing as to the HP it will put out. But I will Dyno this baby when I get it running and have the bugs ironed out and then maybe I will be able to answer some questions, until then just set back and laugh, and watch me see this project thru to the end. I'm only looking for 5-7 psi and a very driveable street car, if your looking for the most HP then do as others have said and go the Turbo route.

Looks good. I was going to mount mine on the drivers side since I have no PS. You don't need any PS. Just think...with all that power, you'll probably be able to do wheelie stands and you can turn the tires real easy that way.

Seriously, looking good though. YOu guys keep stealing my ideas...so I have to come up with other stuff. My next one will be good though muahahahaha.

I've already seen your next idea...A SuperTurboCobraJet. Paxton, TO4, Nitrous for the worlds best hairdrying.

Mustangaroo, that is a wounderful thing you have there! Let us all eat your dust!!!

Damn SWEEEEEEET!
Ben, I look forward to see the Dyno numbers.!

Yea, what Don said!!!

Ben,

I forgot, but did you have the v belt pulley custom made or was it available to order?? If you had it custom made, was it just your local machine shop??

Thanks a lot!

Doug

Doug,
I called Paradise Wheels (They own Paxton now) and was talking to them about using a v-belt double pulley and they said I could, and that they had a custom double pulley that was used (looked new $75.00) that someone had made to fit the Paxton Supercharger. If I hadn't found this I would have went to the junk yards and found a double pulley and had a machine shop size it and machine the correct key way for the supercharger shaft. Here's a picture of the bracket that I made to attach to my A/C bracket....

Very Nice, one question tho, How much did that perrty set up cost???
With the Jeep bonnett that I got today I'm just at $585.00 but still have to buy two new fan belts and some hose clamps

thats a purty nice supercharger...did u gt it off ebay or from a shop, or JY?
that would be a killer setup to have...wanna sell it

damn, beat me to the post there mate but job well done!!

im thinking of using a vortec t-trim blower but am going to mount it on the passenger side (left) because there is heaps of room plus i want to run a intercooler.

ive been in contact with capa and they want like 3g's for just the pump, belt and pully, anyone know of where i can get it cheaper? maybe buy direct from the states??

cheers

p.s bloody well done again!
p.p.s was thinking turbo but a big vortec would be the WOW factor and the sound is to die for

Ben,

A buddy entered your current setup with the supercharger in EA and got ~240HP. You better get larger tires my friend.

DB

ps: which brand of tires do you buy? I need to buy their stock, I figure you'll be frying tires weekly if not daily.

I was talking to a guy in Bakersfield,Ca where I live. He does thermal coatings for a reasonable price. If anybody out there is looking to turbo or supercharge thier six then this is the great way to go. He said that coating inside the combustion chamber and top of the pistons would lower the temperature down from 1200 to 600 degrees inside the combustion chamber. Coating down into the headers would hold the heat in and increase flow since hot gas flows faster than cooler air. I am going to do this to my car. It will allow me to run more boost on an iron head. Up to 18% horsepower improvement with no other mods at all. I'm guessing maybe 10%. That is still 15 hp over stock with no other mods. The more mods the greater, of course, 10% is. Just an idea. If I can run a setup like Mustangaroos @ 240 hp then that would be at least 24 hp without the higher boost I could dial in. Tell me what you think.
