do you have to run a pcv valve on motor if you have a breathable cap where pcv is supposed to go and cap off vacume at carburator base. thanx cocacolaman

On my 300 I put a breather on and capped the line and it ran fine, no difference. However, I did notice a loss in gas mileage, maybe 3 mpg. I ended up putting it back on because of that. I'd say give it a shot though because some people tell me that when you cap it you get a noticable power increase, maybe it just doesn't do so on the 300.

Your oil will sludge up faster with no PCV valve, too.

There really are no good reasons to run without one.
