Performance headers for a 200

does anyone know some places who would carry headers for a 66 200 stock head. I dont really want to go to dual exhaust being more work and i'd like to keep a stock look of a six. Will it give it a good sound with a single exhaust header (i'm not looking for cobra jet cam sound just something that you can hear when you step off the line) also what kind of exhaust size pipe and muffler mods will i need to make.

Well, seeing as how you are new here, I'll skip the trip to the toolbox for a skyhook and left-handed screwdriver. Instead, I will simply ask you to scroll down to the link at the bottom of the screen labled Ford Six Shop.

Just don't (!!!!) click on the Mickey Mouse button on the home page.

thanks for the refernce i looked there but like i said i really dont want to go the dual exhaust route and thats all the headers they sold i have found a place with them for $275 another question the stock exhaust is 1 3/4 with a new modern muffler will with an adapter of course work with a single header or will the resistance cause to much pressure in the header thanks everyone.

or he could just put an exaust pipe on one of the outlets!

thanks for the info i thought about a y pipe however my whole pipe sectio is new on my car so 1 wanted to know if the 1 3/4 inch pipe can be made to adapt the 2 in header or will it get too much pressure in the system

California Mustangs has 6 into 1 and dual out. If you get a good muffler guy, he can fab up an adaptor to match whatever tailpipe you want.

thanks evryone i will probably get a 2 into one or a single outlet i just wanted to make sure i could mount the stock 1 3/4 exhaust to the 2 in header without resistance in the exhaust because like i said the whole tailpipe and muffler section is new.

sorry forgot one more question what kind of sound will i get with the headers i'm not looking to scare the neighbors just something to welcome me when i stomp on the gas. and the fact that i'm going to use the 1 3/4 will it change anything from the normal 2 in. THANKS i appreciate evryone input

are you not planning on running mufflers?!?!? if so then yes you may scare your neighbors...otherwise some mufflers and it will tone it down.

It'll probably sound quieter than before. You're removing some unnecessary turbulence from the system. That's been my personal experience, anyway. Beware of headers with badly trimmed (internally) collector cones.

I'm running the six into one from Cali Mustang with the standard transvers muffler and it sounds stock.
I'm thinking about going to 2" with a Ravin or something less restrictive. Course I been thinking that for the last two years.

thanks ludwig i had thought that but since ythe whole system is new i may just buy a low restriction muffler and fab a bracket to fit to the old mounts.
