@xctasy your answers have been great, I have done a lot of searching on this site and appreciate your answers.
At some point I am going to up-grade to duraspark, but in the mean time I am thinking of grabbing a PerTronix. I don't know exactly what distributor I have. This is a 76DA block with an 82 aluminum head I got from Rocklord that came out of Texas. Ignore the chain and wires etc, I am installing the engine and hope to fire it in the next 2 weeks, once running, swap out the ignition and stuff.
Is the Pertronix 1865 correct for this distributor? Thats the best I can figure from what I know and have read. Thank you for the help or let me know if I need to do more to ID it.
