Petronix upgrade not running well?

I recently put a petronix I on my 66 mustang 6, and it's running really rough, i had points on before and it was OK but had some misfiring.

Do I need to adjust my carb? or dist?

Any ideas?

Yes, the timing needs resetting. It's because the unit doesn't necessarily trigger at the same time your points did.

yeah, also the little spacer thing was rubbing against the igniter unit. anyway we got it all put in and ready to set the timing.
