This is an E-mail sent to me from a mate recently. has anyone else heard of this?
Tim just a quick note to let you know that links used to make a 4bbl manifold for the 2v
the guy whos doing the 2.1/2 exhaust on my car had one on his 2v and doesnt know if available any more but it was a common conversion for the 2v even the cop cars had them so you might be able to get one for your car
cheers Rob

Why have I never heard of, or seen this? Sounds like a case of mistaken identity.

Thanks.
The only other barrels I can think of, that a policeman might have, would be on his handgun. But I thought they only had one barrel ?
Anyone heard of a 4 barrel 38 Special?
Cheers

word up Tim. He he he. Four barrel....

"A heart needs a second chance"....oops, 38 Special is also a US band. Be very glad the internet is deaf, my singing is able to raise dead people and send the living to an early grave...

Well hate to tell you but the 4bbl manifold was made by links and ive seen the photo of the bloke car it had a 500holly and it was in a tc corty. And no need to make fun tim i was only trying to help the guy that gave me the info owns a machanic shop so i can only go by what i am told, wheather he is bullshitting me i dont know but it was a 4bbl on that engine  :x

Not making fun of "you" GS pack appreciate the E-mail. Could well exist. I wont believe it until I see one. If it takes a 500 Holley it would be for a two barrel would it not?

There was a guy here in Alabama that had a four barrel plate fabbed onto his stock 2V intake by someone in Oz before they shipped the 2V head and intake over here. This might be something similar, and its just being called a Lynx by mistake.

And no, you don't want to hear me sing, either.

Later, Kinky6

My mistake it was a 600 .
Well i asked him again and still recons links and that he brought it new back in the 70s for his cortina so #%$* knows its worth a try any way

Kstang has one he bought that was fabbed for a 4V before he bought it. Al and I are going to hack mine up for a 4V carb.

LYNX used to offer full machine shop services. It is possible they did some conversions. Police would have carried them if they were on trial courtesy of MoFoCo. That's about the most plausible suggestion I can offer.

2V Tim ive got a 2v in my TC Cortina and would kill 4 a 4barrel set up.
I've heard of cop cars having 2V's not about a 4 barrel though.
Iv'e found the only and best way is to go custom (plenty of places can do this)as you can make sure it fits under the Cortina bonnets while missing the brake master this is probally the way ill end up going.

I made my final decision on this recently and took the manifold off my 2V and the 32 mm four barrel adapter I had made to weld on it. I put them side by side on the bench ready for the manifold to be cut larger and for the adapter to be welded in place.
It didnt take long for me to realise I really did not want to do this, first because I lacked adequate room in Cortina engine bay (the present two barrel had been set up to look neat and tidy), the 32mm adapter I had made although neat looked ugly and huge when I placed it on top of the 2v manifold, the legal margin around carb may also have been an issue (brake booster) as well as cable set up etc and lastly if it all went wrong the modification to the 2V manifold would be almost impossible to reverse.
In the end I was very pleased with my decision to put it all back on as it was. I took it out for a drive and come home smiling.
Cheers.
