Powdercoating

OK here's an off the wall question. Would it hurt to powdercoat the harmonic balancer?

I'm planning on having the oil pan, timing cover, and water pump powder coated silver. I have a stainless alternator bracket and a chromed alternator comming, and I'd like to do the balancer as well. I just don't want to damage it because it's brand new.

depends if the rubber will hold up to the curing temps. if you have an old on maybe you can run it buy your coater and have him bake it and see if it goes to all hell.

Hmmm, Didn't think about the heat. Maybe not. Oh well, it was an idea. I can still do the oilpan and timing cover. Hmmm... Water pump SHOULD hold up eh?

remember when powder coating that the temps get hot, 400 degrees, or there abouts. any thing that has rubber might be damaged. jim
