So recently I got a 62 Falcon and trying my best to have it at my wedding the interior has been redone and I moved to the engine and now when trying to start it won’t crank from the key but you can jump it from the relay and it would start and you then switch the key off to kill it. So on my journey to figure out that issue it started losing power to the key. After replacing the ignition it seemed to come back but only for a short amount of time. And still won’t crank with the key and power goes in and out. I’ve changed the relay, battery , positive cables and ground cables with no luck. Any advice on where to go next? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the fuse block for any loose sockets or dirty connections test that the power is going through each fuse with a 12 volt test light or volt / ohm meter (be sure to disconnect the batter before you try cleaning the sockets with a wire brush. Also check the main power wire going into the ignition switch. Good luck

Cleaned and replaced some fuses and it finally has a great connection. Haven’t lost power and it starts every time you add a little gas to the carburetor. Thanks so much!

Joshua1962 your welcome, that's excellent I am glad you got it fixed and made it dependable.

time is not kind to grounds either, 'clean', reassemble, paint them?
1 is - battery to frame, not sure on 62 bird...engine to frame, dash to body, body to frame, etc...
This assures this prob is 'fixed' prevents future?
