Problems with upper clutch arm, need help

I bought a new upper clutch arm and a used zbar, but when I try to assemble them in the car, the arm end is about 2-3 in. from the zbar, what kind of stupid thing am I doing wrong now. I am talking about the pedal to zbar arm. It is really strange.

8) The replacemnet could be intended for more than one car and the overall specs changed some. Try finding some drill rod, and use the ends of your stock rods and make a stronger and longer arm. I did this trick many years ago. I drilled out the rod, tapped the holes and used the stock pieces to make it adjustable and stronger.
