I picked up a 60s adjustable rocker arm and want to know which year/model I should be asking for when I go to the part store to get some pushrods.
Would these be oil-through, with a cup and ball?
They put these on Falcons, but not Mustangs, right? '62 or so?

when I was running a 250 in my mustang I used 427 ford pushrods they are ball and cup style,I had to shorten them, used a tubing cutter, they did not make adjustable style pushrods for a 250,I also would use adjustable valve train on hydralic cams before I switched to a solid lifter cam,I was having problems with the lifters pumping up over 5000rpms,I would them shift between 5800 and 6000,I ran it up as high as 6500 but it was falling on its face.just an idea and some info for ya.

Howdy Back All:

The years for OEM adjustible rockers and pushrods in all 144, 170 and 200 FoMoCo sixes is 1960 through 1964. Some of the early 1964 1/2 Mustang 170s have adjustible rockers. '64 was the transition year to Hydraulic lifters and 7 mains. Some 1965 engines have adjustible rockers, but that is only due to FoMoCo "Empty Bin" policy.

The length of a pushrod increased for a 250 and since the 250 never had a Factory stock adjustible pushrod these must be aftermarket.

Adios, David

If you need "professional help"( :? ) try giving these guys a call. I got remafg'd rockers from them and asked them specifically about pushrods for a 250 and they said they could provide them as they were the used in FE engines.

My 65 200 is apparently a hodge podge. I've got a 170 head, adjustable rockers, AND hydraulic lifters. Rods are cup and ball, non-oiling. When I bent a rod, I had a heck of a time getting the right replacement. They kept trying to give me a ball-ball oiler. Finally figured out I had to specify a 64 1/2 200.

BTW, I have them in stock, if that helps.
Thanks Mike, I knew that, and you've got the nice chrome-moly ones. But I can a set here for just over $40CDN and I won't have to pay shipping
