8) Okay..there have been many threads about adapting a Ford E.F.I. to a 144 - 200. Has anyone really done this using Frod parts? Has anyone done this using Tempo, Aerostar, Mustang based parts? Rather than keep the carb on my Son's 200.we'd like to move to a Ford based EFI system.
Megasquirt and others still seem a difficult match.

Yes, two guys Australia.

One has a Cortina with a Supercharged 250 2v engine with a custom EFI system. The other has a turbo charged 221 engine with a log head in his T-bucket.

The T-buckets first combo was an LPG TURBO with a supercharger. It is hard to get a picture because the internet site is a 100 meg one. Try http://images.google.co.nz/images?hl=en&lr=&q=+site:www.100megsfree3.com+racerphill

See http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=788

No-one else has done it yet. Amazing, as the US practically invented the best EFI systems and on board electronics in the whole wide world.

I've got a system under wraps, but it's tied up until I get my project car set-up.

Hint. Look at the 4.9 EFI system, and the66mustangs adapted x-FLOW EFI to D8 head. All it takes is a little background reading, and some tube and a welder. The megasquirt suits a diy guy, while the SDS and Delco systems are nearly plug and play.

8) With everything out there...........I'm shocked that there is no real world easy bolt on system. Time to do some parts picking and work.

Not to be negative here, but I have read many posts from lots of guys wanting to go EFI on there ford six. Maybe I just don't see the big picture cause I don't see where this upgrade is worth the $500-1000. in parts and computer vrs the beneifit! If your going to go Boosted with high P.S.I. and want to be able to drive it on the streets idel to WOT I could see it, but if your looking for better MPG and smoother idel the Webbers/Holley 5200 are almost as good and lots cheaper and less trouble. The EFI will not out perform a properly tuned carb with 12:1 A/R, though it will get better MPG and probably pass a smog test if your state has them. When I had a Holley 5200 on my stock 200 engine I was getting 28 mpg on the highway and around 18-20 city, it ran smoothe at idel and had lots more power than the stock 1V carbsl. Just my two cents here, do as you like, I just don't see the beneifit for the money?

wasnt there a guy who did this in...i wanna say Holland or finland (not our own mac...who had a website about all the stuff he did, including newer suspension and efi...or was that just an efi engine he dropped in...?
