Rear Motor Mounts

I need to change-out the two rear (left & right) motor mounts that attach to the bellhousing on my 55 F100 223 six. Will I need an engine crane or should I be able to place a jack undernieth bellhousing and slightly raise to releive pressure? It appears to be a pretty straight forward operation but I'm not sure on the correct way to do this without the risk of breaking something else. Appreciate any guidance.

I just did my motor mounts a few weeks ago (1959 223 f100). I used a a 2.5 ton floor jack and a thick moving pad between the jack and the bottom of the oil pain. I lifter from the front half of the oil panjust heigh enoungh to slide the rubber out. I have the front motor mounts. Good luck.

You should be able to jack it up from the bottom of the transmission. However you will need to disconnect all of the clutch and gear levers and such.

Good luck!
