Rebuilding a 200

I bought a used 200 last month and now I am just starting to look at it.I was told it had been rebuilt and it looks like it.The head is very clean, there is a port divider already welded in.My question is this:
Should I still have it dismantled and have the block magnafluxed and then add the stuff back in or should I take my chances and add the distributor, carb, header, etc as is.

take the timing cover and oil pan off, check bearing clearences and check bearings to see that they are still good, if they are copper colored, chances are it has been a long time since rebuild, they no longer sell those bearings, I'v heard production of them stopped in the 80's.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread, still in progress.

A couple of years ago I bought a '66 block that had "recently been rebuilt". I had a dial indicator and mag base and checked the deck height. I found that the #1 piston was about 0.060" below the deck; all the other pistons were around 0.030". To make a long story short the #1 rod was different than the other 5. Besides being too short it was 17 grams too light. I'm glad I checked and found it.

Personally I WOULDN'T dismantle the entire engine. So don't worry about cleaning, flushing and magnafluxing the block. But DO check deck height, main and rod bearing clearance, bore dia and piston dia, top and second ring end gaps, ring to groove clearances, cam shaft and crank shaft end play, etc.
