Removing the choke for turbo

When removing the choke on a 350 Holley for turbo application does one remove the whole shroud or do you just take the butterfly out???? does the shroud have a negative effect if you leave it there???

I personally sterted off by just removing the butterfly, then later removed the entire choke horn (I believe thats what your talking about) it ran fine with it though, I figured it might flow better when I up the boost eventually)

I wouldn't cut up the carb. If you do be careful with the vent tube.

cut the whole air horn off mate, make sure you epoxy up the hole the rod use to go through.

How much would the Coanda effect apply in a turbo situation like this?

If I thought it was restricting on this engine I might try to modify it. If it isn't restricting then you might cause more problems. I have never been one to apply mores law. I also do what I feel it needs not what everyone else is doing. If you are gonna modify something, do it because it's needed, not because somebody else did it.

If this is a blow thru setup it probably doesn't need it and wont benefet from it. If it is a draw thru it might help but it would benefit more from a stub stack or a larger carb.

I am not saying it wont increase airflow. I am saying you may not need to increase it and depending on the carb bonnet you use, you may cause problems.
