sponge-bob, i asked mike at fspp if he was considering a decent fuel pump in the 6-7 psi range. We need some feedback on this subject from the forum. Has anyone run a fuel pressure check on available pumps. I keep hearing carter?? These new fuel pumps are all sealed & you cannot jack the pressure up or even interchage pump arms from an other carline to fit the application like you used to. Lets get some response from the members??? :idea: :idea: respectfully william
Rather than just a good pump, what about more "information" under the lid? A decent fuel pressure gauge with a quality regulator. A good regulator won't pressure climb whilst idling, and will reduce vapour lock situations.
As to fuel pumps - we can still get rebuild kits here (lucky us!), so there's a little more choice if you really want to go that way.

That's what Addo is saying, adding a regulator and a guage to keep an eye on the flow. If you are loosing pressure then it's more likely a problem with the fuel system clogging nearer to the tank, and not the engine demanding more fuel that the stock pump can deliver. There's no need for a hi-flow pump unless you need to feed some nitrous solenoids or are making WELL above 200hp. And in that case, a nice electric pump may be the best option.

oh...I thought there might already be a regulator.
I am not losing prssure (dont think) just getting bad gas milage. I JUST stuck on an in-line filter with clear glass so I can see whats going on
I also tuned my idle down...but I think I am not right on fuel/air mixture
on a holley....its the screw with the spring...right?
