I keep spinning the standard balancer on my Xflow. What i want to know is

Whats the difference between the steel, steel/alloy and all alloy romac balancers apart from price which varies(all alloy being about $100 more than the steel.

What are the benefits of using the different types

I have one on order from romac, should be here next week. I also purchased the steel/alloy. Cant wait to get rid of the standard one.

My alloy romac one, has circlips to keep the rubber in place, looks good,

Not at all,

I was quoted $219 for the steel and $250 for the steel/alloy. I cant remember about the all alloy. I was originally going to get the steel but they didnt have any in stock. I purchased it from KB engine parts in Vic. They quoted rouphly $60/$80 cheaper than i could get any where else and that was including postage.

I can get the ph number if you want

cheers

do these things offer any type of performance agin on a n/a motor

how bout a turboed motor...

looking to buy if gains are there

Just had a dig through some old post and found this...
Allright you asked for it ,stand by for a product blurb.......
We sell POWERBOND / ROMAC harmonic balancers here in NZ..
First up there a stock replacement run of the mill nothing flash which are cheap and good for a daily driver...
Then theres is the STREET SERIES ...These feature bonded dampening
rubber to eliminate spinning and component seperation. They also have a SG iron balancer centre and new inertia rings, bonded then balanced to
extremely tight tolerances....good for upto 6500 rpm and have etched timing marks........if your at 6500 rpm i dont think youll be woring about the balancer.
The STREET RACE SERIES ....These have similar features to Street series
but have CNC machined interia rings from 4130 steel for safety and will comply with the ANDRA drag racing requirements.Good for upto 7500rpm.....Again if your at 7500rpm it wont be for long and you will be buying more than a balancer....

cheers Dave
