In my opinion, Yes.
OK, I'll try it, if you'll warrantee it...woodbutcher":2k8h4ws9 said:Here is something that I have heard from a number of transmission rebuilders.Weather it is true or not I don`t know.If it is,it would be a big help to those of us who have the older(read pre Dextron fluid)trannys.
When you do a total rebuild with a proper cleaning of ALL components, you can use Mercon/Dextron in ANY automatic transmission.
Please feel free to correct me if I have posted incorrect info.
Thanks.

and this:JPT transmissions in Michigan recommends 0-20 Mobil-1. They are the gurus for C-4's. Specialty Formulations will make up a mix for your specific needs. I personally use OTC Type-F but change it out completely (67 Mustang, so I have the converter drain plugs) which simplifies the routine. My change interval is once a year--approx. 5000 mi. His drain interval seems kind of short. Shouldn't ATF be good for at least 20-30K miles?Even though you don't need a full synthetic, here are some:
Redline Racing ATF
Amsoil Supershift
