Whats the max RPM's you can turn out of your stock 200ci single barrel six?

I can only turn about 3,000 before it sounds like the motors about to explode.

mine more like 5500... when scaring ricers (I am a ricer myself I suppose) itll go over 6k quickly.... then I almost crapped myself and stopped...

when racing I usually shift 5200 or so

The max RPM for most engines is:

Parts on the road minus @ 100 RPM

As Hasa...' said, 5500 to 6000 RPM is easily reached if you are getting on a worked 200. It does indeed sound like it's coming apart when you get above @ 4500 RPM - that's part of the allure . I would not approach 4000 RPM with a 200 unless I've had it apart to inspect and I put it back together with specific attention to the valvetrain and have confidence it will to do it more than once.

I also have a great running original '63 170 Falcon Wagon and that engine I redline at @ 3500 RPM but it is a four main bearing with 42 years of wear. It actually feels like it is somehat unbalanced or the crank is flexing above 3000 RPM.

i have a sunpro tach that i dont use anymore. I'll sell it cheap. Looks like this.

ha! great question. when i bought and installed my tach, it had a switch on the back for 4, 6 or 8 cylinders. i set it on 6, and the first ride i ran it out to 3500 rpm or so, and it sounded like 6 grand! i checked the switch two or three times thinking soemthing was screwed up. finally had to measure tire height and check the rpm's at 50 mph in 4th gear and calculate rpm to satisfy myself that it was right. there things do make a racket.....
