Thanks for the vote of confidence...

Addo, man you are right, it was only after calling 20+ machine shops and getting the "I can't believe you are doing what to a 200?" response that I found the guy who rebuilt my I6 in the CJ7 I had in the early eighties.. he was working for the same shop, but they had basically changed names and owners.... this makes me very happy. He actually cares about what we are doing? Plus he has a lot of experience and I can trust him, big thing to be able to trust your machinist.

Interesting what you said about COME . They claim a percentage increase for there cams but that is only with there specs on carb, extraction and mild head porting as in the above example on the 351 I suspect.
Can easily be misleading unless you read all the, excuse the term, BS. Still if there claim is true sound like a lot of HP to me?

Any thing Sam Blumstien from C.O.M.E Racing says, he could back up on a dyno...or a court of law! He did a B Com and then decided he liked passing out ponies more than just counting monies. The EPA haven't anything nasty to say about his cams or the Consumer groups his power claims because they are based on years of grinding and building and dyno testing his own gear. And his relatives live in the US, which is were he got all his information and skills from. The V8 focus is there because that's were the money is. The six cylinder market place is fickle, but V8 boats , race cars and off roaders are always in fashion.

Crow Cams and the Spence brothers are more accessable due to there ablilty to grind cams, not shove whole engine combos out the door.

Each to there own, and all that!

Those grinds above look very good, but notice they are designed for non-cross flows, and have a lot of extra duration on exhast to cope with potential catalysts or poorer flowing cylinder head castings. They fit the engines they are designed for, and there is choice like you wouldn't expect for an engine that died off 20 years ago!

Jimbo,

Sorry not to respond earlier.

I like the comp cam (despite the costumer disservice). It give the car a nice sound with a very slight loping.

call comp cams they will custom grind you a cam this is their #(901)795-2400 they did mine cam ,vavle springs and lifters was about $297 everbody that hears mine says it sounds like a small block I tell them that it is a small block also had lot of other work done also

Wow, that is high... I got the Schneider cam for 125.00 and the springs keepers and other hardware included only cost about 200.00 (Now this was not a custom grind, but Mike(AZCOUPE) can get custom grinds for 130.00 and he has cores...

Comp has NO CORES ANYMORE, they will only regrind your core if you ship it, and it has to be good.... mine was not.

I wanted to stay away from this particular thread but...

DB...if you ever need a cam, call George. The hometown has won numerous SEMA awards and is as cool as a cat. I have never had a problem with customer service either. Take care of the customer and the customer will take care of the buiz!

When I first called The Wizard about the EFI cam I was going to need for the TBI, his first question was...Roller or hydrualic? Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Alls I need is some testimonials from some of the "hometowns" here in Southern Cal but no one seems to want to get together (aside from the Knotts crew)...I NEED SOME TESTIMONIALS MAN!

And it won't be hard gettin' them either... 8)

Just to throw in another choice, I have been very happy with both the service and performance from my isky 262 in the aussie 2V. Most people can't believe I'm not running a V8 in the old bronc.
