Hi, Im new here and recently deided to work on a Mustang my dad bought a while back and never did what he wanted after we found lots of rust.

Its a 200 6 cyl and i had to get a new battery, battery cables and solenoid. The problem i'm having it i took all the wires of the solenoid and thought i would remember where they go. Could someone help me out on where the wires go on each termial on the solenoid. I thought i had it right but once i turn the key to on position, the starter is already trying to start.

Looking directly at the solenoid. i put the positive battery cable and the harness going to the front of the car on the left terminal, the starter cable on the right terminal. the two middle one are labeled S and I, I put the red/blue on the I and the brown on S.

If anyone can make since of what i'm saying , please help me out.

You've got the S and I wires backwards.

Brown is the ignition, R/B is the starter - that's why your starter is getting power at the key-on position.

Thanks i just figured that out. I have another question though, the car has an electric pump installed and it was connected to the soleniod also, that should be on the S terminal on the solenoid also right?

Should be on the switched side so it only runs when the engine is on. You don't want it pumping fuel on ACCESSORY.
