Squeeling working on disassembly for now.

Now that I assume it is safe to drive and can go I find myself with yet another problem. I think something in the drive train is squeeling. Possibly the pilot bearing or throwout bearing? All are new. Maybe something is out of alignment in there. Does any body have any ideas?

8) does it happen when the clutch in released? or just when you are driving down the road?

Just after I start moving over 5 mph and when I stop it goes away. I put it on the lift and run the engine up to 35 mph in second gear and there were no squeeling. It only does it with the car down and rolling. I have also changed out to new bearings and hubs on the front but no success. I can't see anything visually of anything wrong. The wheels spin freely. The tranny is full of oil up to the fill hole. Everything has been greased. I dont know

perhaps front brake pads are worn to the metal?

Everything on this car was put on new. I have less than 100 miles on it since I started driving it. At first it didn't squeel and just lately it started. I was a mechanic in the military for 20 years and I have done many, many brake jobs. Engine OHs, valve jobs, etc on many different vehicles. I have owned almost every year falcon has come out. I don't recall ever putting anything on the end of the tranny when I poked it in, just lining it up and shove. I guess it could be something that would cause a high squeal under there somewhere. I am just asking first before I start tearing apart again.

Had a dry tailshaft seal that make an awful squeal once.

I noticed some seepage from there before and put one of those new style double lip seals but the squeal was there before I did that.

I had u-joints that made an awful squealing noise once.

The ujoints are new and I just greased them again. It sounds more like it is the pilot bearing. When I put the clutch in the screaching starts to go away. It takes a few seconds before it stops but it does. I have thought of another test like moving and put into neutral and turn off the engine. Will keep you all updated.

8) you might have the same issue i had with my 66 falcon. the throw out bearing was too big, hte pilot bearing was worn out and allowed the input shaft to wobble severely. another problem i had was with my 64, it was low on trans fluid.

It sounds like it is the throw out bearing if the sound goes away when you push in on the clutch pedal.

The tranny was just checked and topped off, the pilot bearing was new and after 100 miles shouldn't wear out that fast. The throw out bearing was fine for the first and only 100 miles and now is something is squeeling but I am fixing to pull it and try and see what is happening.
