I need to rebuild my 6 to 2 to 1 header to clear my newly added Lakewood bellhousing. Can anyone help me with this project? I'm thinking a step header,a set of smaller diameter tubes run in front of the firewall. It's that or use an iron manifold.
Can someone tell me where I can get a collectors for these headers?
Thanks,
Ken

If you are talking about a small amount of change. Have used sections of straight, 90 degree, and U bends or by cutting out pie cuts of the primary or secondary pipes to move the collectors over enough to clear.

Step headers are used by racers to pick up midrange torque & to enhance the speed of the exhaust slug.

The primary pipe out of the exhaust port might be 1 3/4" & then 8" later go to a 1 7/8" primary pipe.

Unless you intend to use your engine in competion you are just wasting your money.

Small engines need a smaller primary than a larger engine, all depends on your application.Bill

Thanks for your input. I am just going to cut the header tubes near the flange and move the collector away from the bell housing. That project will start next week.
Thanks,
Ken
