temp gauge

I am confused, I bought an electronic aftermarket water temp gauge and it is all hooked up but goes past 250 like that. Even when just 3 min warmed up. Is there a special wire of the sensor or does the gauge work with the stock sensor of the engine?

every manufacturer has a sensor to match their gauge. The Ford sensor may not be the right resistance for your gauge.

The othe possibility is that the wires are reversed.
