I'm still debating wheter to use hardened washers to "fix" this or just go back to using the factory head bolts.....

did you have the head shaved or something? i dont think that would do it but i dunno give arp a call and see if you did get the wrong parts if not hardened washers should do the trick.

Alex,

If they are thick enough, I would go with the hardened washers myself.....I've had those washers on mine now for almost 2 years and have not had any problems at all with them

Too bad they arent the correct ones though...

edit

Pictures just finished loading up....I dont think you can use them unless you can use a die on them to make more threads....too much is sticking out the top to shim up using washers IMO...

Later,

Doug

Give me a day or two to look up my old Clifford Archives. I did all the purchasing so I will find what the size you need. I have to find the CD- I have all the information on first.

I will be sending Mike (AZ COUPE) the files this weekend so that he can either give them out or be able to order the correct parts from ARP and sell them as a new item.

I work in a Nuclear facility. We have rules about whAT TYPE type tencile strength the bolt has before approving it's application.
I'm rebuiding a I6, 200. Are my heAD BOLTS {GRADE8] GOD ENOUGH?

Grade 8 is typical for a head bolt, but as you know from where you work, there is grade 8 and there is GRADE 8. Some of that imported stuff doesn't meet spec.

It's a big problem in the aircraft industry and defense industry to make sure bolts are properly certified and graded.
