Guys, I posted last week about my #2 cylinder not firing. durkzz8, you were right on the money, the pertronix magnet was bad. A couple of followup questions....instructions say air gap the module to magnet .030? there is not enough "play" for a gap. It is evident that the prior magnet was rubbing against the module. Do I need to modify the mounting holes?

Also since I replaced the magnet I've noticed a stumble when the engine is under a load. I should not have to re-time the engine from just replacing the magnet should I.

Idle is great, just a stumble between 25-45 in any gear, I've adjusted the carb to no avail. Could it be a vacuum leak?

thanks for all the help!

8) you might have to modify the mounting holes a bit. use a small rat tail file.

since you changed things, you likely change the position of things in the dist, and that will change the timing. just like replacing points will.
