I am currently thinking about upgrading my 1966 Ford 200ci engine and one of the things I want to upgrade is the camshaft and the water pump. I have an idea for the camshaft but not entirely certain what water pump i should try out, I know that Meziere and Davies Craig are options but I have no clue which model to go with since if I get a electric pump I will also want to upgrade to an electric fan. The engine block was bored .030 over when it went to the shop. The only mod on the engine is the header kit, I eventually want to move to the Holley Sniper EFI but that will be a future endeavor with the car. Any help would be appreciated.
This is the Camshaft that I am considering
Ford good economy camshaft H-264-0-B from Clay Smith Custom Cams, 144, 170, 200, 250.

I run a 2300 Sniper & Hyper spark on the stock small log headed 200 in my 67 vert. Myself i love it . I had a few issues in the beguinning but worked thru them a corrected them . You can forget any tech help from Holley . The one guy they seem to have for help was swampped when ever i tried to call . I never talked to a soul that worked there . Me personaley i think it was some of the best money i've spent so far .
I ran that 2300 on the stock exhaust system & the points thru a Msd box for awhile . Then a header & duals . I ran it with a Dura spark for sometime . About 3 years ago i put a Paxton supercharger on it .
Game changer paired up with that Sniper set up .
That flow cooler water pump seems to work great . I've read they can cause leaks in the cooling system . Heater coil, radiator etc . My heater started leaking after a little time when i installed it . Don't have a clue if the 2 were connected or not. Easy fix i capped the hoses off at the block ,fixed .
Something like this i think is a personal choice a person has to make . In the 6 years i've ran mine i have seen a lot of hate post about the Snipers .
If you just want a knock around car with basicalley the power it came with, the one barrel seems like a good choice.. Any increase in power or performance with it i don't think will happen .
For what its worth don't waste your time on an external mounted EFI fuel pump. Use an intank like Holley sells .
I'll be the first to tell you its not cheap .
I'm in close to 5 grand just for all the Sniper components( fuel pump, hyper spark dist & Sniper )and that Paxton .
And that's not counting the grand i saved when i was putting the supercharger setup together .
Me i'm happy i have a 6 cyl that runs pretty strong ,more like a sbf v8 now . Makes for a pretty nice ride. With all the suspension work i don't worry about the car getting away from me when i'm out & get stupid in it .
Would i do it again? In a minute . My advise to anybody even thinking about it is make a true assement of your mechanical ability's . Just the getting everything on is work . You have any issues with the Sniper that's when it's a bitch ..
I was 67 when i started down that road & for an old school hotrod guy with nothing but carb experience it has been one steep learning curve.
