That would be a totally bitchin' look with a mounting plate adaptor and an intake cone or ram air. Would need to be cleaned up a little so it really pops.
I immediately got a feeling it could be hooked up rather easy. Performance should be faily good, certainly better than a stock one barrel. Add the "ram-air" effect and it could really do something under the hood.
You could run them progressive or together. Rejet as you choose. Could be a reliable, fuel savings, performance, multi-carb set-up with a decent amount of adjustability.
I used to have an Opel GT. I ran the stock 2 barrel progessive Solex carb with very good luck, never a problem in 13 years of ownership. I love feeling the secondary kick in. I never got good mpg for some reason…
what do you think would be involved in putting this in to a '63 ranchero with a 200 in it? seems that clearance might become an issue especially if a conversion plate was needed...
That's why I said an intake cone. No air cleaner on top. The stock carb plus air cleaner has a fair amount of height. At $12.01 (last bid was $12), how can you go wrong? Heck I'd go as high as $20.01.
