I checked the site this morn & seen this exhaust post. Within the last few weeks I installed a 2 1/4" dual 8 piece exhaust system from summit on my 67 vert 200/ c4. The kit comes with hangers & clamps . Aluminized with mandrell bends . It fit quite well with the exception of the passenger side tailpipe which was not bent correct, but it was fixed by cutting and rewelding it twice .
Prior to this I had installed a set of the ebay 3 into 1 split stainless header from speed daddy .Trying to get ready for an alumn head install.
The exhaust system is a collector back kit . I installed the pipes thru the center with the 45 degree bends toward the header down pipes . I had to purchase a couple of 2 to 2 1/4" reducers & I picked up 2 -2" catalytic convertor flex connectors to tie onto the down pipes. You can
get that done at a muffler shop with pipe or probably cut the last 2 collector pieces up and use them.
Installed 2 Megna Flow Stainless slant cut rolled tip exhaust ends last week to dress it up a little. Everybody who hears it says it does not sound like a 6 cyl but like a v8. As far as it haveing a driveing sound I haven't noticed one but I do have a bad ear. I've driven it top up & down for some it might sound a little loud when your standing on it thru 1st & 2nd but when it hits the last gear it tones down.
For a stock 200 with only a sniper, a header
&dual exhaust system it runs ok . When i first got the system on i ran it thru the gears on a test run 50 in 1st ,70 in 2nd & still pulling strong in 3rd. The header & duals are defitenly an improvement over the stock exhaust drinking straw size exhaust system on my 200.
The 2 1/4" pipes fit thru my vert fine no banging or rattling around.
Maybe after I post here some I can get the hang of posting my pictures.
In a few weeks I hope to have my reproduction factory console
& a set on nos factory oem fog lights installed on the Money Pit.
This past weekend I got one of the 4 new window regulators installed & yesterday afternoon the last 2 new door hinges on. What a pain in the a## that was.
Sorry about this long rambling post but I keep forgetting to check in here. I will post some more when I start the install on the alumn head. I checked in with Schneider cam's 2 days ago for an up date on my new lifters they did'nt & still don't have . Good news is my cam has been ready for about a month
