Anyone got any tips on how to clean up a rusty looking exhaust manifold?
Got engine block looking nice with new paint, can the rusty looking exhaust manifold be spray painted with high temp paint? Any suggestions?

high temp 1500 degree paint works good for ex manifolds but it usually doesn't last that long. Best thing to do is paint the manifold when its hot so it soaks in better.

I picked up some high heat paint.
The directions said to bake the part in a 600 degree oven to cure it.
I returned it.

If the manifold is off the engine then the best thing to do is sandblast it to get it good and clean. I use Eastwood's Factory grey hi temp coating. I have it on my manifold and it is holding up pretty good. It says it is rated for 1200 degrees.

go and get it sandblasted, then ceramic coated. Wont cost you that much and will last forever, plus it'll keep your engine bay temp down a few degrees. I had a new twin system done for the 2v about 2 years ago, but didn't ceramic coat it - should have. Its already going rusty :(

Autozone has 2000*F paint. I got it in flat black. I removed the manifold and wire wheel grinded it. Put 3 coats on it. Still looks good 3 months later.

Thanks for all the insight. I ended up sandblasting it and spray painting it black w/ Eastwood high temp paint. I am pleased w/ how it turned out. I guess time will tell how long it lasts but looks good for now.
