I was wondering if my car could pull a gremlin. From atlanta ga to huston tx? It is a 61 falcon with a 144 in it . The gremlin only weights 3000 . so do u think it could make it?
I wouldn't bet on it. Your engine is at best marginal and your tranny simply isn't up to the task. You don't have the wheelbase or the weight you need. Flat towing is brutally hard on both vehicles and the Gremlin on a trailer would wag the dog in any kind of a wind.

As mentioned, you dont have enough motor, mass, or more importantly brakes. I was told it was illegal to use my 2WD Ranger P/U to tow my Capri XR2 to florida with a 2 wheel tow dolly. I was told if it had been a 4WD Ranger it would have been OK.
I wound up towing the Capri to FL using my bosses 4WD S-10 Blazer.
Thats why next time Im saying screw the Rangers and buy a F-150 or Econoline with a 300 I6.
I was thinking a bout flying there and working on it to get it running. but it a amc inline six. I dont know much about those. The guy says it needs head work. I cant rent a truck nobody will rent to any one under 18. The times I wish I had my f150. wow I miss that truck any other ideas?
HYMMMnn. G-R-E-M-L-I-N. 144Ci. I have 2 AMC's,1 258ci & a 232ci,both a little different,in terms of design from each other. For example:---The 232 has the starter motor is on the passenger side, while the later 258,has the starter is on the driver's side of the engine. It's been awhile since I saw a 144ci,however,I'm sure that the 144 is pretty similar to the 232ci. OO6.
Opps! I screwed up with that last post there. You didin't say what engine was in the Gremlin! AWww man,I feel like such a dingbat. Sorry! Good luck with the Gremlin though OO6.
