i have a 66 200 and i was looking at doing a turbo setup and have a few ?'s. first : are you guy using wastegates on your turbo setups or running them straight to the carb? where are you getting your turbos? and third what size turbos are yall using? im thinking like a T3 or something of that size

1) The wastegate goes into the exhaust ("hot side") and bleeds off exhaust pressure (before turbine) when you reach the boost you want. It isn't plumbed into the "cold side" anywhere.

where are you getting your turbos?

2) Try to stay away from places that seem too good to be true. There are a lot of junk Chinese made Knock-offs out there that you DON'T want ANY part off. Be very careful what you look at.
A good turbo shop won't steer you wrong! www.majesticturbo.com has always treated me well.
I have bought brand new Garrett turbos off of ebay, but I stay away from used stuff because you never know for sure what you are getting until its in your hands (and then you probably have to rebuild it anywyas)
The Master Power turbos (NOT "power master" or "xs power"= chinese) are good quality and are made in Brazil.

I have a TO4B with a S-3 trim compresser and "O" trim turbine. - check my sig

ALSO - read the FAQ at the top of the forum

Turbo choice has a lot to do with how much horse power you want to make & at what Boost & RPM you want to run.

For me I think a TO4E with a 57 trim would make a good one but I would want alot of power on low boost (pump gas)with the option of turning it up for some real power later.

At the monent I am building a I6 with a GT4088r turbo if that tells you anything.

Alot of people have used the Master Power turbos with good results (power & durabilty) in the Mustang 5.0 crowd. A pretty good turbo for the money. But like all thing you get what you pay for. Just depends on what you are trying to achive.

WOW!
You had better start a new thread detailing that buildup!

What kind fo power are you shooting for? I know what that turbo can do, but what kind of engine build?

Lets just leave at this for now. As things get close I well make some post.. But the turbo is capable of 800hp. Garrett only rates it at 700 but I can show you dyno sheats of 800hp plus to the wheels. But the thing about this turbo is its very responsive and will spool quick. I have seen Supras go possitive boost as quick as 2000rpms. The turbo is so effeitant that 2 to 4 psi is making power quick.
