Linc 200 turbocharged a stock 200 inline six complete with modified 1bbl carb.
If you keep boost low, like around 7lbs, you can use stock engine if it is in good shape and is running properly.
Would not hurt to add a MSD spark box that can retard timing with boost.
You need a carb that has a solid float so its not crushed by boost pressure and a carb hat. Assuming the carb has no major bushing leaks you can get by running a cast metal carb hat instead of the old 60's style carb boxes. The EPA mandated all carbs had to be internally venting to reduce emissions IIRC in 1978.
You will also need a boost referenced fuel pump.
Even with the low amount of boost would be good to still run a front mounted intercooler to reduce risk of detonation.
You will definately need a 3" exahust to reduce pressure. Simplest turbo setup is to find a pre catayltic converter exhaust manifold and get a shop to build you a J-pipe with a t3 flange on the end.
I am building a 200 inline turbo six for use in a Fox Mustang. Original plan was to mount in my 1991 Mustang convertible but upon finding out the 91 has major structural rust damage plan changed to a 89 Mustang convertible.
I am using a stock T3 turbo off a 2.3L turbo Turbo Coupe .48/.60 and a SVO style 3" exhaust with 3" downpipe.
I have plans for two heads. The simple version will use a stock GM 2bbl 480cfm TBI unit mounted to a aluminum adapter plate and a Megasquirt ECU.
I am planning to take a stock catalytic converter exhaust manifold and remove studs and mill off flange and get a steel plate made that bolts on and is cut out for T3 turbo opening and has the mounting studs.
Was planning on using one of the holes to mount a Tial style 38mm wastegate.
