Two 1bbl carters on a 300?

I got my stock 1 bbl to work real good now. Since I have a extra intake and two more 1 bbl carters, I was wondering if any one has tryed on a 300 what has been done to a 200 log intake here: http://inlinefever.homestead.com/RamAir.html
I think 3 1bbls are 1 too many when trying to get it to idle, plus I do want a decent MPG. I think two YF's would be ideal.
What has really got me puzzled is where to place the carbs on the intake.
I am worried about the distrabution between different cylinders. I know hudson did this factory (2 1bbl carbs) and wonder does anyone know how they placed theres. I am thinking if I mount them right at cylinders #2 and #5 that it might give 2 and 5 more fuel then they need with all other being too lean.
I belive I am going to try 1 carb between #2 and #3 and another between #4 and #5. I belive this is best.
I am even considering spliting the intake in half, kind of a dual plane intake. Surey someone has done this before, anyone?

Well I may a slightly different plan for the intake. I still belive spliting the intake will improve torque up till 3000 rpm. What I am thinking of now is a 700 cfm two barrel TBI unit from holly? I am on a tight buget I still think the stock intake would work right if it was modifed.

Well, what does everone think?

On a side note I am planing on running a efi head with 1.94 int and 1.60 exh valves. I really like the chamber shape of the efi head. It even makes more sense on a non-crossflow head.

Well, You asked what I think. So here goes.

I really don't like the stock log intake, just to many sharp turns to work well.
But I like your general idea.
If you were to use the EFI lower intake manifold and build a plenum for it that was split, then you would have one that flows very well.

Some of the Slant6 guys are using twin single barrel throttle body injectors on their engines. That might work for you. The parts are very cheap and it ran great.

Just my thoughts,
John
