two groove, or single groove pulley?

i've only got the alternator, waterpump, crank circuit on Susie, so i don't really need the second groove on the pulley, and a single groove is cheaper...

so, can i just get the single and not worry about it? or is there a fundamental difference?

the single groove is listed for 60-64 falcons, while the double is listed for pretty much everything else

Single groove should work fine. Plus, if it's cheaper that's a good thing.

The other consideration is they are smaller than the Oz 250 damper, so little chance of hopping across to an imported motor, later on - unless you want underdrive...

Howdy Evan and all:

There maybe reason to go to the two groove damper. Generally, a heavier crankshaft damper helps to control vibrations and torsional stresses on a long inline six crankshaft. Much of this info came by way of flathead Chrysler sixes and straight eights in vintage Bonneville cars. For the slight difference in cost I'd go with the two groove. It is a 5 7/8" diameter, three bolt unit used from '63 - '77.

Later units will measure 6 1/8" across and have a 4 bolt attachment system. They can in one, two or three groove design.

Short of a performance damper, heavier is better.
