Update on the Turbo Experiment.

Yup. The 215-245-265 are similiar in bore spacing to the Landcruiser/Chev in-liners, about 4.4" bore spacing. About 0.35 inches farther apart than the Ford and Holden sixes. The rod quality is as good or better than the best RPO 5.7" SBC rods.

The smaller journal Chrysler rods are:-

* 126 thou smaller in diameter on the crank pins,
* and 130 thou shorter.
* Pistons wrist pins are smaller than the Chrysler. It runs a Chevy size pin. As far as I'm aware, the pistons can't be honed the extra 15 thou...the Chrysler uses a thicker pin of 0.927" rather than 0.912". It would be better to bore and bush the rod, in my opinion.

* Bearing in mind a +30 thou over 250 is really 254 cubes, then you could get around 4.3 litres and 262 cubes with this kind of offset ground 250 crank in a in Ford. That's 8 whole cubes.

* Compression ratio with a flat top piston would be much worse because the piston would be 70 thou further down the bore.

*Rod ratio would be 1.42:1, down almost a point from a crapy 1.51:1 as a stocker, and much worse for high rpm work.

On an OHC, this would be a 4.184 litre, 255 cube engine with +30 pistons. You couldn't use any common piston I'm aware of with this combo.

Spot on Adam,

I have so called mates that get upset when my slapped together junk destroys thier BIG DALLAR MARRAS that took the over 5years to plan, theorise, evaluate, contemplate, and develop.

Mr Val360,

I know where you live buddy. I am going to come over and MURDER your lawn with avgas!!! (Your pethero is going to kill you!)

As far as Crysler parts are concerned, I think I used two wheel nuts of uncle Taso's fertilizer. He parked his Val next to the lemon tree - he said the rust and urine help grow nice lemons!

Custom engines are Crysler KNOBS. I wouldn't even let them adjust my tyre pressures.

For the record...My slapper only has ford parts insde it. I would not use a Crysler partseven if they were stronger and fitted. This allows me to be a cocky prick when provoked by die hard strokers like VAL360 who is using a FORD 9 INCH IN HIS VAL!!

Sorry to create such a technical discussion about the val parts. It's all for fun!

By the way, my wife got me customized plates for the corty. It now sports the name "SAVURA" translated to "JUNK" in Australian.
You can tell how much she likes this car...NOT!

Bye

I am going to increase the boost in steps until it explodes...
At which point, I surmise, you will have to park it on Valman's lawn overnight to drain the oil properly...

I have tried to explain the Australian thing of "Let's see if we can break this  ", but it doesn't seem to translate well. Theres always plenty of undamaged bits for the next project.

Adam.

lol like big KEV would say "IM EXITED" im plaining to run my Beast around 25- 30 psi but on special occasions or maby till so goes BOOM

yes aussies tend to just push it till it blows then do it all over again.

i am running 32psi on pump gas., the package is still being sorted but on pump gas and 32 psi the motor is kicking out 739.1hp.

i plan to run some elf racing fuel (114 octance rating) and methonal injection before the turbo and crank the boost up to 43psi for a single dyno pass

goal... 1000hp

the turbo i have is capable to suply 44psi so i'll be pushing that as well.

all i can say is.....

IT'LL GO OR IT'LL BLOW!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK I NEED HELP.

cheers.joe.

Struth Joe, I hope it tracks well. Otherwise you'll be steering with a joystick in your mouth for ever... Got a cage in there?

WWHHHHAAATTT?????
43 PSI???

That's enough to blow my gasket! ...Twice! ....Trice!

And I thought 20 PSI was savage!!

nice...very nice...

Did you say 43PSI??? :? You did..You did say 43 psi...

Shit...That alot of PSI! Are you selling any?

I'll buy some.

Good work

You did..You did say 43 psi... YES I DID!!!

Shit...That alot of PSI! I KNOW IT IS Are you selling any? NOT TILL I DO THE SINGLE DYNO PASS THEN I'LL LEASE OUT THE EXTRA 11PSI THAT I WONT BE RUNNING FOR 49.95 A MONTH

I'll buy some. OK DEAL

Good work THANK YOU.

CHEERS.JOE.

Introducing The PSI-factor with Dan Akroyd as Elmo.

'Woops, 43 psi, we've blown a rod'.

'Ohh, that's not serious is it'.

I think its time to mig weld the head down, Joe. Or just leave it as a freeky new kind of blow-off valve. Hope no-one gets hit.

43 pounds, truly Evil, my man. We are not worthy of you talent. After you get 1000 hp, then you can shove the Vortech on, compound boost it to 80 psi, and kick in the heads of Keith Black Hemi punters...

lol, Troedeln :D

hmm, 43lbs eh? is this going to be on your stroker motor?
can I watch it throw rods into the tarmarc beneath? :D

nah, it'll be interesting to see how long the crank holds!

If it (the build) is done properly, only a dyno should break the crank. Even then, you may lose traction first.

What would be interesting is to see how far out of true the body crept after even one launch.

Adam.
