Yup. The 215-245-265 are similiar in bore spacing to the Landcruiser/Chev in-liners, about 4.4" bore spacing. About 0.35 inches farther apart than the Ford and Holden sixes. The rod quality is as good or better than the best RPO 5.7" SBC rods.
The smaller journal Chrysler rods are:-
* 126 thou smaller in diameter on the crank pins,
* and 130 thou shorter.
* Pistons wrist pins are smaller than the Chrysler. It runs a Chevy size pin. As far as I'm aware, the pistons can't be honed the extra 15 thou...the Chrysler uses a thicker pin of 0.927" rather than 0.912". It would be better to bore and bush the rod, in my opinion.
* Bearing in mind a +30 thou over 250 is really 254 cubes, then you could get around 4.3 litres and 262 cubes with this kind of offset ground 250 crank in a in Ford. That's 8 whole cubes.
* Compression ratio with a flat top piston would be much worse because the piston would be 70 thou further down the bore.
*Rod ratio would be 1.42:1, down almost a point from a crapy 1.51:1 as a stocker, and much worse for high rpm work.
On an OHC, this would be a 4.184 litre, 255 cube engine with +30 pistons. You couldn't use any common piston I'm aware of with this combo.
