Can anyone tell me where the vacuum line from the intake manifold connects to the transmission modulator valve?

I have a '66 with 200 CI, C4 and noticed the vacuum line was loose in the back of the engine. I bolted the bracket around the line to the engine and must have pulled the line off the modulator. The line has a 90 degree bend at the end with about 4 inches and is hanging loose. I cannot see where to connect on the transmission and now the car does not shift out of second gear. Does this line just push in? Thanks, a picture sure would help. Lesson learned....If it ain's broke....leave it alone.

It uses a length of rubber hose that plugs onto the steel line, and onto the little canister-shaped thing to the right rear of the trans, near the trans rubber mount (but forward of it). I'm pretty sure the correct hose is available from Mustang parts places.

The modulator is about 1.5" in diameter with a hole in the center and extends out about 1" to 1.5" from the transmission. It is located on the lower drivers side of the tranny, very close to the end of the hard vacuum line. The hard vacuum line has a small length of hose attached (about 4") on the transmission end and near modulator valve.

The line has a 90 degree bend at the end with about 4 inches and is hanging loose.

That vacuum hose should continue around to be positioned to push into the rear of the modulator which has its own nipple inside the center hole. There is no clamp, it just pushes in. Its pretty awkward to get at.

Good luck, Buzz
