WAY TOO MUCH FUEL

It turns over very hard. Sluggish like its out of time checked many times always rig on. Even thought it may be 180 out bit if i put 180 out it pops out exhaust

Recheck timming several times and its always right at or very close.

What procedures have U used here. What is "at or very close" (ur resulting numbers)?

TDC on crank pully also checking that num.1 piston is at top. Setting dis. In with rotor pointing twards driver fender and vacume advance facin fire wall with advance pluged firing order is correct

What do the plugs look like? Wet you might be hydrolic ing the motor. You should pull all the plugs and see if it spins easy. If you got a bunch of fuel in it and wet plugs you will need to dry it out.

okay, try this...

disconnect any vacuum to distributor... plug that vauum line.
Connect a vacuum guage to the intake manifold, somewhere after the carb. not the carb vacuum ports.
get the engine running, how ever rough it might be, or high RPM.

with it running, look at the vacuum, rotate teh ignition to get the SMOOTHest running, once you think it's smooth, try the following
move idle adjustment screw...
Move the Airfuel screw...
move the choke... (make sure it's fully open if possible but test if closing helps in any way)

try a combo of those... try adding choke and taking away timing, combinations while it's running.

try disconnecting the gas pedal rod, then closing the throttle by hand.

either way you really have to play with it while running, you can't set timing if it's not running, even cranking isn't good enough.
try to get the rpm to a decent 1200rpm if possible, don't go lower than 1000rpm while adjusting anything.

I don't think it's the PCV as my flows ALL the TIME, and it's healthy. it's be 'stuck' open, it's supposed to be a vacuum leak sucking bad crank fumes to burn later... it's a good system. there must be a breather on the valve cover, don't block it, let it breath.

I forgot waht igniton are you using? points? are those set correctly?

something will affect it. something will stop it running or bring it lower, play with it, see what affects what and if there is a combo that need to be affected. try moving the timing for more vacuum, idealy you want 20 vacuum @ idle, that is affected by timing and idle speed. idle speed is affected by fuel ratio and timing. just work out the simple basic areas, there is alot to try, watch the linkages with the throttle moving, watch all moving parts that you can control.

be diplomatic about it and watch what affects what on the vacuum guage and rpm's.
