Hi all,

Reading thru some of the old posts for info I realized we are all newbies at some point. Posts where Doug, Slade and others that are now giving advice where asking for it for their first builds. Thanks to all, maybe someday I can achieve knowledge to share.

I'm starting to get there.... I can now tell people what I think but in every pot that I tell someone it syas that I'm not 100% sure and for someone else to answer.... just incase... I still am always asking questions but not so many....

Same here, to think, two summers ago I found this site on accident, and look where I am now. My motor was stock then, now its about to have 10-15psi boost crammed down its throat. Im always thankful for this site and I try to contribute all I can! NEWBS, ask away, doesnt matter how dumb or tough, ask the question, someone will answer!

Hell...I'll admit I'm still a newbie. I learn something everyday. Usually through my own stupidity. I have one advantage...Big Al lives 25 minutes from me...so I have a good resource to hide my mistakes.

I'm a firm believer in trial by fire. You'll learn more from doing something wrong yourself then watching someone do it right 10 times. Lest we forget the Mr. Gasket episode:

and that's the truth
but MAN it's annoying when it happens...

Yep. I may have a ton of cars,engines,ect,ect laying around,but,I still don't know it all---never have,probably never will. Heck,I've never even had a "Hot-Rod" six,but,one day......... 8) 8) . Now though,I have 2 Nova's to 'build.' One for my Caddilac 5OO & one for my........my.....(**whispers**...........)S***L ****k C***y :?  :o :D . But then again,all of this could be just 'some more talk',I mean,I could go out,and come home with ANOTHER CAR..........again :P I mean,ya just never know with me   . OO6./The-X-Or-Six!

In line sixes are like life, you learn something new every day and there's lots to learn around here.
Like Slade err/um Mr. Gasket (I remember that) pointed out, you can learn allot by trial and error, but the good advice around here is priceless.

I havent changed...I still try to convince people that i know what i'm talking about even when i dont, lol. Actually I have learned a tonne of valuable information from this site, to tell u the truth i could barely change a spark plug (actually that was my limitations to mechanical work at the time, lol) and now i could probably install a turbo and do a pile of other stuff...although i would still seek guidance from the knowledgable gurus of the site...heck even newbies amongst newbies can figgure quite a bit out...its awesome.

I have to comment on this one.
Ive always been a Cortina bloke dad had one then got married and brought another, not to mention the long list of family and friends who have induldged.
I've always been a i6 man. Ive had fours and there just not my style, revs and noise but going nowhere fast.
Inductions good but not always required and ive tried the 302W into the old Corty thing and it was the worst car ive ever had. and it had to be a Corty:bang:
But the old faithful i6 has brought my lovers down from 8 to a enjoyable 6.
Its all due to this site that i know all that i think i know and its always been fun.
And were all better men/ladies for it. Cheers
