Has anyone run a "ram air setup" from the snorkel on the aircleaner to the front end of the car. Seems to me it can be rigged up cheap and would grab cold air and stuff it into the carb. Any ideas on this. I think I saw it in a magazine article about running efi to a 200" six with turbo.

Thanks
Darrell

You mean like this:

'Bout $15 including the pipe flashing for the radiator wall.

when i ran an open aircleaner up inside my scoop i could definatly feel a little more off the line power

That is awesome! Thanks guys, I was planning on running the setup and Ludwig your picks will really help. Thanks again guys I will post pics when I am done. I want to try to grab air from the scoop on my shelby valance.

Thanks again
Darrell

what if you took this one step further and put a small 12 volt dc fan motor inside a box like a heater fan motor and suck in cold air and force it into the carb.

Just an idea Jeff

Heres what mine used to look like and it is an idea worth pursuing! :D

It would end up being a restriction and would lose power over about 1500 rpm.

I made my cold air intake out of my kitchen pan and used two import style air filters. I will have to post some pics.

Heres my pics of my intake. Total cost was about $57. The air housing was free because it was my kitchen pan, the tubing was about $25, and the air filters from ebay which with a total of 2 and shipping it was about $32.
