What I'll do for a Turbo...

Will,

I've never not gotten what I want...I just have to spin it sometimes. I just like to get everything cleared and I like to get her involved. She loves me working on HER mustang. We we get our Nomad...Then I'll have MY car.

Good boy, Cobra6, live long and prosper!

Women may not be the best project managers in the world, but they can suck the ball bearings off a well-oiled scheme plan in a matter of minutes.

Cars can wait, having any kind of dialogue is the key.

My wife is the one person who helps me make a sucess of things. She is no car nut, but really loves the results. Selling off my old Falcon was a great turning point in our realtionship, as she loves the idea of a wild six hauling our family around.

my gf (of 11 years) likes the old cars, she originally met me because of my old '66 4dr malibu (which I still have). She doesnt like to help but has finally gotten the idea that when I say something is broken, even when it might not be *yet* that she had better pay attentention and that I will be working on it soon.
We are right now negotiating on a house that has an attached 2car garage, small horse barn (lean-to), and a 32x28shop that is fully insulated :D. We both know that we have slightly different hobbies. But for bills and such we have a system when we know they are due and there is always that "pizza and beer" money that manages to get saved around for side projects like monte carlo bar or new cinch.. We communicate that we like things but rarely ask each other before buying them, save BIG expenses. This system seems to work out. Heck as soon as we get settled, if this house deal goes through, I *have* to get a tractor  and because she and her sister will no longer be sharing horse supplies she will most likely *have* to get some new tack for her big babies..

We have fun with it and occassionally we try to sneak one past the other, her shoe collection seems larger but they all look the same, unless she asks then I point to one and say it looks better with whatever she is wearing.. Any my car book library seems to have gotten a few additions this year..

When you get started keep us updated.

My wife is also very understanding of my car and part collecting habits......
I think having the support of your partner is a very good thing for both sides.
