i don't have a digital camera so i'll just have to describe this. i'm sure someone will know what it is right away. There an electrical device mounted right next to the radiator by the battery. I think it's a relay to the head light or something but i can't find it in the shop manual. it's got 3 terminals, and the wires seem to go off to the head light bay.

this is on a 66 200ci mustang.

thanks

Do you have fog lamps ??...possibly a relay for that option... I just looked under my hood and dont see anything like that on that side...On the other side of the radiator (driver side) is the voltage regulator.

no fog lamps. maybe there was something attached beofre which is now gone?

it's not the voltage reg that's on the other side.

Evern,

It could be that a previous owner installed a headlight relay. Especially if you have halogen headlights.

As the headlight switches get old they won't carry enough amperage to run the headlighs. A solution is to add a headlight relay that is turned on and off by the head light switch. The HL switch then only needs to carry the amperage for the relay. The relay has the hot wire from the battery to the headlights.

the voltage regulator is on the driver side. it's not the voltage regulator. this is by the battery.
