My real problem is I am out of town for work several months at a time then home for a couple of weeks so hard to get things done but as I have learned you need to collect all the parts you need way ahead of time. So in regards to my plans for direct mount 1.08 on my new D7 head my question is this 1.08 came off a 302 so the main jet is probably to large. The last time I was home I forgot to check to see what size is in there now. What size should I look for and where to go-Pony Carbs?
I plan to port and polish the D7, use the stock valves and direct mount the carb and use with the stock bottom end for now. Then rebuild one of the blocks I have with a mild r/v type cam and try to at least minimize the piston height issue with out spending a lot. Planned compression ratio about 9.1 or so. Headers some time after that.
Thanks for your help.
