i got an xf motor given to me but i dont know if it is a 4.1 or a 3.3. i found this info

Engine Codes

L - 3.3 Litre 6 Cyclinder - Med. Compression
V - 3.3 Litre 6 Cyclinder - High. Compression
X - 4.1 Litre 6 Cyclinder - High. Compression
W - 4.1 Litre 6 Cyclinder - High. Compression
Y - 4.1 Litre 6 Cyclinder - EFI - High. Compression

i had a look at the motor and it has W's all over it so it must be a 4.1. can anyone back this info up?

No really easy way to tell other than checking the stroke.
This can be done by putting a long piece of wire down the spark plug hole and measuring the difference between the piston height at TDC and BDC(top of the travel and bottom of the travel)
