what to do about porting 3&4 port runners

my camera couldn't take clear pics, I tried. what it was tho is where the runners stick out of the head, there were 2 thin spots in the casting, and I cut thru. in any case, I'm giving up on this head, I made some contacts and I found Desert valley Auto parts has a '78 head for $150 + shipping which is $50, having hardened seats installed in my '67 head will cost $325  so I'll get the '78 head and bowl under the valves just a little, and call it good, also I won't get the bigger SI valves, I'll still come out on top as the '78 head is second best log head.

if you're not in a huge hurry search "for sale" on the different ford forums. most people can't wait to 5.0 their ride. I have bought three complete motors for less than that with trans.

Agreed.....I have had two complete 200's given to me, for free!

I'v thought about searching for a Motor, but shipping an engine adds up at over $100 at least, my dad's 350 Crate motor was $179 to the door, not to mention the extra parts and block, I'd end up just donating to the auto class ( don't have storage room ). on another forum I frequent, I was just offered a '66 200 cheap, that had a couple of torn up rods, but a good cyl head, shipping from calli wouldn't have been worth it. to me, $150 is a fair price,. what I did is I put a parts request in 1 of the junkyard search site for a '78 Ford Granada 3.3l 200 I6 head, and I'v gotten many replies back from variouse yards, DVAP's is the only 1 that quoted price.

Search for a 80-82 Mustang (E0xx) head

Have to ask:
The head on the engine I bought through Clifford is cast number E08E-8090-BB.
Was that the best head to have?

Mike.

The E0xx heads (1980 - '82) have the largest valves and I think the largest log intake, so the one you have is usually considered the best one.
