What tool to use?

OK, gotta replace the valve cover gasket.
I've been through my toolbox, (which is pretty thin) trying to figure out how to get at the nut that holds the throttle cable bracket and the carb on the fairmont.

I can't seem to get anything in there, so what are you using? Have to buy a tool, any suggestions please.
13mm offset wrench of some type? I could get if off but I know I would butcher the nut without the right one.

How about a simple universal socket extension ( you know, the kind that flops around in all directions) and the appropriate size socket? Is there room for that?

A 1/2" combination box/open is a little slow, but works fine.

When in doubt, a cheap wrench from the junk store, a vise, and a torch can provide you with the proper fit-just don't try to take the wrench back for a warranty exchange!!!

Whats wrong with taking it back for replacement? I have had cheapy jcpenny tools that i took back with those sort of issues and they didn't even blink an eye, they just got me another 1. Although that was long ago... If it says lifetime warantee on the tools i would expect people to be bring tools back and getting new every once in a while.

Got it. Didn't have a 1/4" socket set, needed a u-joint and extension bar. Everything I had was too big.
Gasket in. :D
