what's up with argentine heads?

Sorry for the redundant question but I guess I haven't been paying attention. It looks like we may be importing some Argentine heads? Tried a search, didn't work too well, are these a bolt up to the US block? What should I search under to find out more about this? How do the Arg heads compare to the Aussies? Thanks for any info, Matt.

They should bolt right up to the the US 200/250. They are alot like the OZ 2V heads but not quite. They flow alot better then the 2V. The US and Oz headers will not fit.

Hi Matt,

The Argie heads are NEW ready to bolt on heads. They use off the shelf US valves, and 18mm spark plugs. A local individual in Los Angeles(Rosemead) will make a header for my SP and I'm sure he would not mind making more. The headers will be copies of the clifford dual outs, but I'm sure single outs will not be a problem to make either. I would also bet that if there was enough demand for a turbo ex. manifold that he would gladly mass produce turbo manifolds.

When discussing price, remember that these are bolt on heads with the seats cut (hardened exh. inserts) full bronze exhaust guides and iron Intake press in/out type guides that are much better than stock. They're guaranteed not to have any cracks and they have healthy combustion chambers to yield a reasonable compression ratio for the larger 250 motors.

How do the Arg heads compare to the Aussies?
At this point there are no running SP headed motors in the US so its all objective. Although there are plenty of 30+ year old 221 race motors in Argentina with 300+ naturally aspirated horsepower. There are two guys on this board with SP heads at the moment. One person is planning a triple carbie attack, I'm planning something a little different.

Great Job INLINER!! Keep us updated.

Cheers.

Thanks Dennis.

The heads won´t be terribly expensive. We want to sell these, not keep them sitting around our garages (or living rooms...). However, it may take a while before I can get the manifolds rounded up at a decent price in order to pass them on to you guys at a reasonable amount.

Patience for now.

Been waiting for this kind of news for a year or more, sure be nice to have by springtime.

SPRINT... As in Falcon Sprint. The Argentines never had Mustangs, but the Falcon lived for over 30years. The Sprint was the special edition.

There were three kinds of heads on Falcons: log heads like here in the states, the Sprint heads that I´m working with, and Max Econo heads which were based on the Sprint head, but more economy oriented.

SP = a sprint head
ME = a Max Econo head

yeah, WE got the less technologically advanced of the three...go figure

"SP" stands for "Special Performance".

The fastest Falcon ever was the '73 Futura SP, first one featuring the 3.6 (221) "SP" engine. At 2800 lbs of weight, it was able to run from 0 to 62 miles/hr. in a tad more than 9 seconds, factory stock, tall gears, crappy tires, old-folks friendly suspension, and 8:1 compression.

I'd like some info on getting on a waiting list or buying one.

Would like to see some flow data on these heads? Lets see some specs on these heads. The main problem they don't even use the u.s. or aussi header. After years of exhaust experience & products available for the aussi heads, i'll still go with the aussi heads right now.
Convince me & other members of the forum with results from these heads. Its great to see new products, but they have to prove their place in the marketplace with performance & price. Good luck you have stiff competetion from other competitors. William
