WOW!!! Ton of ideas here guys!!!
T-5 idea 1st. I have thought about swapping to one off and on for the past couple of years, especially since Al has made it a bolt in swap, But it seems to me like it would be a major PITA. I would have to source everything on the internet because my local junkyard has no 6 cylinder stuff in it and my car is currently a automatic right now.
And I just had the tranny rebuilt a few years ago and installed the shift kit in it a couple of years ago.
Turbo next. Good idea
But the 10.1 compression wont work with it
Nitrous
Summit has a 100-150 HP system that installs in the aircleaner on a 2 or 4 Bbl Holley and it is a easy afternoon bolt on. I really think this is going to happen as soon as I can put my current HP to the ground!!
Supercharger. A little to "Hi Tech" for me but a good idea nontheless!!
It seems like the general consensus is to get the HP to the ground instead of trying to make more at the current time.....Uncontrollable burnouts are fun though!
As far as handling upgrades go, I thought I would eventually install some 80/20 or even 90/10 drag shocks on the front and after I install the new rear springs, perform the Mopar spring clamp trick on them. I allready installed Shelby traction bars back there last winter and as Jack pointed out, Just finishing up installing aluminum rear drums.
I need to install a dual reservoir master cylinder also...
I want to stay with the 7.25" rear because its rebuilt and it weighs a lot lesss than either a 8" or a 9"
Hows this sound for a plan??
Pull engine and install a 2500-2800 RPM stall convertor, and while the engine is out, I can install the double roller timing chain and gear set that I got from Mike last year.
Upgrade the master cylinder while I'm at it also. Pull the rearend to replace the leaf springs and swap gears to either a 3.50 or 3:70 somthing set off ebay....I find them on there (NOS) at least a couple of times a month.
Upgrade rear tires with some sort of drag radials for increase traction, then hit it with a 100 HP shot of nitrous???
Thanks for all the input guys....Dont know where I would be without ya all
Later,
Doug
