Where to attach vacuum gauge?

I have a nice vintage vacuum gauge I would like to hook up and was wondering where to attach the hose. There is a line from the intake log to the transmission that I could probably find a "t" to feed both the gauge and the vacuum modulator. I could also probably figure a way to splice something into the hose to the PCV valve.

A friend suggested I use the vacuum from the carb that goes the the distributor but I have heard that it doesn't really have any vacuum at idle. I have a `68 200 with an Autolite 1100. Is there one source that is better than the other?

Thanks in advance!

had the same issue trying to check vacuum to set the engine idle air screw. On the one barrel the only [place to tie into is the pvc valve line at the carburator base. the line to the distributor is above the throttle butterfly and useless for constant vacuum.
